I have been dissatisfied with the price of bookbinding equipment for the novice book binder or extra ones for the pro to use. This is my answer.    It is made of hardwood plywood with a high pressure plastic laminate covering (like that used on kitchen countertops) on all flat surfaces, which makes it easy to clean and it won't warp or become rough from moisture. The color on the one you get will be different than the picture, as I use extra pieces from my shop. All wood edges are sanded smooth and sealed with paste wax.    For the bookpress part, the inside dim. are: 9 3/4" from the groove to the back 13 1/4" side to side between bolts and 5" daylight. The bolts are 3/8" with wing nuts. These bolts run through copper bushings in the upper platen so it rides up and down smoothly.   Included are 2 acrylic rods for making the hinge groove. This section can also be stood on it's back and used for a backing press (see pic)    The sewing frame without the platen expands to 11+" inside height, slot is 1/2" wide x 11 3/8" long with 13 1/4" between the bolts.  Simple keys are included.    You can't get much simpler than this! Nice and portable for classes and demonstrations!  It can also be used for pressing flowers, foliage, collage, and anything else that needs pressing.
